Blogger Recognition Award

Now that the holidays are over I’m excited to get back into the swing of blogging. And what a sweet way to start the New Year; pearlgirl from INFJ Ramblings nominated me for the Blogger Recognition Award! I relate so much to her posts as a fellow INFJ (there are so few of us that it’s really nice to see that other people react to the world similarly to how I do) and it means a lot to me that she thought of me for this award.

Here are the rules:

Post the award image on your blog.

Thank the nominator by linking to his/her blog.

Nominate other blogs for the award.

Let the bloggers know you nominated them.

Write one or two pieces of advice for new bloggers out there.

Provide a link to the original post that nominated you.

My advice to new bloggers:

I took a blogging and social media class last semester (which is actually how I got started with this blog). Mainly, we learned about promotion tactics and ways to increase followers and connect to others. And I find connecting to others is really important. Not only does it let other people know that you are out there, but it really means a lot to people when you comment on their blogs and interact with them. And it’s a great way to start friendships and give support.

We also learned that you should find bloggers that inspire you and reach out to them. Pearlgirl was one of the bloggers whose blog I was inspired by because I relate to her so much and I love her writing style.

Also, it’s important to be consistent, especially when you are just starting out. For the class, we had to post a minimum of three times a week. It may be intimidating, but not all posts have to be lengthy. Even posting a fun meme or quote or picture counts as content and gives readers something to look at.
